This scholarship is named in honor of Fran Miller—a devoted educator, advocate for women’s rights, and beloved member of the AAUW Del Mar-Leucadia Branch. Fran dedicated her life to promoting equity and education for women and was passionate about nurturing the next generation of teachers and leaders. Since its inception in 2022, this scholarship has supported three students in attending college. We’ve now taken on the challenge to fund 7, three-year renewable scholarships at California State University San Marcos. The AAUW Del Mar-Leucadia Branch has a close connection to the university, as did Fran, who was a mentoring teacher there. Many students at this university come from underserved communities, making this scholarship a crucial opportunity for them to achieve their academic dreams.
